Is a car accident victim’s wealth or poverty relevant when determining the amount of damages to award?

No, according to Florida case law, a car accident victim’s wealth or poverty is not relevant when determining the amount of damages to award, except to the extent that a person has retained lost wages or loss of earning ability.

See: Samuels v. Torres, 29 So. 3d 1193 (Fla. Dist. Ct. App. 5th Dist. 2010).
